Hence privacy policy
Hence is built so that your answers, notes and progress stay with you. This page explains the few exceptions.
Who is responsible
Hence is created by Ivan Grubišić and published by Farpoint Digital. During the beta, the data controller is Ivan Grubišić, Vinkovci, Croatia. Contact: info@farpoint.group.
What stays on your device
Everything you do in Hence is stored only on your phone or in your browser: your name if you give one, your life areas, goal and times, your answers and confidence, your notes and check-ins, and your progress. We never receive it. You can save a backup, restore it, or delete it all in Settings.
What we receive
- Beta price question. When you finish month 1, Hence asks which plan you would choose. Your answer is sent with the month, how many reps you did and how many actions you tried, and the date. It carries no name, account, device identifier or IP address, so it cannot be linked to you. It is stored in a database hosted by Cloudflare and used only to set a fair price.
- Beta usage counts (only if you switch them on). Hence asks once, after your first rep, whether it may share usage counts during the beta. If you say yes, the app sends at most one updated snapshot a day: a random install number created on your phone, the platform (Android or web), the app version, how many days since you started, which month you are on, and how many reps, committed actions, check-ins and tried actions you have, plus your reminder and weekend settings and your price answer if you gave one. It never includes your name, goal, answers or notes. The random number is not linked to your phone, account or IP address; it only lets us see how usage changes over days. The legal basis is your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). Switching the setting off in Settings withdraws consent and deletes all counts stored under your number. Counts are kept until the beta ends and at most 12 months.
- Hosting. The app is served by Cloudflare. Like any website host, Cloudflare processes your IP address to deliver the pages and protect the service. We do not store it or use it to identify you.
What we don't do
- No accounts, no advertising, no analytics without your consent, no tracking across apps or sites.
- No selling or sharing of data.
- Reminders in the Android app are scheduled on your phone. No server sends them.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask what we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Because the price answers are anonymous, we cannot find yours. Usage counts can be deleted at any time by switching them off in Settings. The rest of your data never leaves your device. You can also complain to the Croatian data protection authority (AZOP).
Children
Hence is not intended for children under 16.
Changes
When Hence adds accounts, sync or payments, this policy will change before those features go live, and the app will tell you.
